Deryk works in the field of Engineering, graduating from Napier University, Edinburgh with an Honours degree in Transportation Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years experience working in both private consultancy businesses and public sectors, in the specialist “cross-over” area of technology and information services to improve the operation of transport networks.
Over the last six years, whilst working with the NZTA, Deryk applied practical innovation techniques leading to the successful implementation of new traveller information services and solutions throughout New Zealand. Many of these new information services continue to create an environment of “better informed travellers making improved travel choices”. Deryk’s ability to approach initiatives, from a client’s perspective is a highly valuable quality, enabling good alignment with wider business drivers, ultimately increasing the chances of overall project success. Deryk is interested in the development of outcome driven strategies in the areas of customers and general business. Combined with his initiative and ability to identify opportunities, provides Deryk with the foundation to assist businesses develop achievable strategic visions. Away from work, Deryk is an avid golfer, having played all of his life, whilst still keen to keep fit through running and cycling. |
